I updated all my drivers and still no solution. Luckily, I detected the problem quickly. I ended up buying a new motherboard. I disconnected wireless Logitech receiver (for mouse), and everything went back to normal. Rebooted in Safe Mode....ran Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware programs.....results came back that there were no infections. Could the USB drive be the issue? after reboot, install graphics driver pack from the installer cd that came with your computer. I haven't been able to reproduce that first issue here. A system restore did not work.
